Definition of Descriptive Text

 Descriptive text is a text that describes or describes a person, animal or thing. This explanation or description includes the form, nature, amount, and others.

Social function/purpose of descriptive text

 The social function of descriptive text is to describe the object by detailing the object subjectively or describing the condition of the object from the author's point of view

Descriptive Text Structure

 Identification (identification): general description of a topic.

 This section is usually in the first paragraph. The structure of this descriptive text aims to describe what will be discussed in the paragraph. So it's just general information.

 Description: an explanation that contains the special characteristics of the object, place, or person being described.

 Language Features Descriptive Text

Petra as The Lost City attracts many tourists to visit. The number of visitors has increased significantly as it was recognized as one of the wonders of the world in 2007. They visit and admire the grandeur of Petra and its history.

The word Petra means "stone" in Greek. The city is known for its grand boulder architecture, majestic buildings carved into tall and gigantic rocks. Petra was the capital of the Nabatean kingdom of King Aretas IV in 9-40 BC.

Petra is a safe place because the enemy is difficult to get there. In addition, the community is also safe from sandstorms because it is in the Wadi Araba valley.

Hi Gusy This time I will describe about recreation that you can like, maybe the theme of recreation is waterfalls. Recreation with a waterfall theme is very much like it and this time recreation will definitely make you like waterfalls even more

The waterfall recreation called Seljalandsfoss is in Iceland that's the name of this waterfall. Maybe the name of the waterfall in Iceland is not easy to pronounce, but its charm is definitely indisputable.

Let's take a closer look at this 60 meter high waterfall. Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljalandsa River. This river is also the flow of the Eyjafjallajokull glacier. So you could say, Seljalandsfoss is a glacial melt

Seljalandsfoss waterfall has a large cave behind the splash of water. From inside the cave, the resulting scenery is truly special.

Like falling into a hole, this waterfall offers a different view. While playing wet in the cave pool, tourists can enjoy the sunset across the waterfall. This sight is becoming the most popular in Iceland.

The cool thing is, this waterfall is never boring because it has a different view for each season. In summer, you will be treated to a view of wild flowers blooming beside the waterfall. In winter there is snow covering the edge of the waterfall.

Well, the most awaited thing here when winter arrives is the appearance of aurora in the sky which makes the waterfall view even more beautiful. These are the two favorite seasons of tourists.

To get to this beautiful waterfall, you can drive from Reykjavik for two hours. The falls are accessed via the Seljaland farm along Iceland's main Ring Road.
